...but I'm not sleepy, gramma

My 2-1/2 y/o grandson, Adriano, is spending the night here. He tried this a couple of weeks ago and it didn't work out and his parents had to come and take him home; however his 4-1/2 y/o sister did spend the night here that night. This time I watched him as his folks had some work to do on their new house they are building. His sister was someplace else, so it was easier just watching one child. Together they keep each other *fired up* and it can be very exhausting on gramma. And, I mentioned that since it was my son's birthday this weekend, why didn't Adriano just spend the night here and they could go out for dinner, or something. Well, he did just fine all day, through dinner, into the evening. Even when it was time to get him ready for bed he didn't give me any hassle. As we were watching a video his mom sent to help him settle down, he said to me "I want mommy." I assured him that his mother would come and get him (not saying that it would be tomorrow morning) and I rubbed his back as he was resting quietly. Within a few minutes he quietly, and half asleep, said to me, "I'm not sleepy but I’ll just rest my eyes!" It was all I could do not to laugh out loud. Haven't we said that before, as we were *resting in a chair or on the couch* and eventually fell asleep only to wake up a bit later. Here is this little 2-y/o kid making a very grown-up comment! What is in the water these days, or is it in their vitamins, that makes these youngsters so sharp? Wish I had had some of that when I was growing up; perhaps I'd not forget stuff ~ like my friends birthday ~ (sorry Eric)! ((hugs)) to y'all

Lunar Eclipse... did'ya see it?

Did anyone get to observe the Lunar Eclipse? It wasn't visible here in my part of Michigan ~ too much blowing snow ~ next time is in August ~ and there had better not be any snow then! Is anyone else ready for spring? I know I sure am! I am looking forward to working in my yard on flowers and pretty things, feeding the birds, and having my grandkids over to *blow bubbles* in the yard ~ this grammy has a bubble machine and the little ones run and try to catch the bubbles. A good way to burn off some of their extra energy ~ works every time! Even when they saw the bottle of bubbles in the cupboard, they mentioned that they want to play bubbles again ~ I said "so does grammy!" .. and then we all laughed and colored in our color book. Hope everyone is well ~ check in with y'all again ~ ((hugs))
