JOSEPHINE THE PLUMBER ~ where are you??? I was reading Rosietulips blog and it reminded me of my own similar plumbing situation. My bathroom sink decided not to drain very quickly and this has been sort of a new problem. Since this was the case I thought one of the grandkids (ages 5 & 3) might have accidentally dropped something down the sink. I tried using the baking soda/vinegar mix to clear out the drain ~ it didn't work too well. I tried it on two different times within a few days. Then someone said I needed the "industrial strength declogger" to declog the hair, etc. ~ as the natural one only works on kitchen sinks that have a more greasy residue in them. Well, then I thought I could remove the stopper and plunge the sink. So I removed the stopper, but broke the thingamajig that holds it in place! Then I plunged the sink! It does work better than it did before, so perhaps I pushed the ‘clog' further down the pipe, or hopefully all the way out. But the water does empty quickly as it should. However, now I am left with an open hole in the sink where the stopper should be. If I thought the grandkids might put something down the sink when the stopper was in place, can you imagine how inviting it is for them to see the opening and think; "hmm, wonder what will fit down here" type of thing? I temporarily have the stopper sitting in the sink and will have to see if I can find something to fasten it in properly before the kidlets come over for the weekend. I am watching them for the weekend as their parents are going away to celebrate their anniversary. Say a little prayer for me that I can keep up with them!
