To all my tblog friends!
Enjoy the holiday and see you next year!
Winter wonderland ~ and the snow is beautiful, except now our snow is gone!
Well this is some winter this year! Here in my area of Michigan we already have had more than four times the snow for a winter and it is only December, according to weatherman on Friday. Then on Saturday we had warming temps up to 56 degrees with rain and thunderstorms; lightening even. That progressed to extreme flooding of the rivers and creeks ~ oh my goodness what a mess to some areas, and even some homes.
And then Sunday at about 4 o'clock in the morning I was awakened by extreme winds blowing around my condo. Luckily nothing hit my place ~ thank goodness!
We had winds up to 65 mph ~ that is hurricane force winds!!!
I know some areas had tornadoes and I suppose this was the tail end of those storms. But trees were blown down taking power lines with them and by noon today there were thousands without power. I was not one of them, thank goodness! And the temps were dropping quickly causing all the rain on the roadways to freeze and it was horrible. Again, churches were canceling services this morning.
We are now at 29 degrees and just ‘normal winter' ~ and we lost all our snow, except for the huge piles that were caused by all the excess snow.
I have so much to be thankful for ~ I am warm and cozy in my place, I have electricity so I can watch my TV, read, play on the computer ~ I am so thankful!!!
Hope everyone can be comfy and cozy as we continue through winter! ~ ((hugs)) to one and all!
Since I am going to be away from the
computer for the next few days
I would like to wish everyone
a very Merry Christmas.

Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you
May all your dreams and wishes come true
Happy birthday to you, LadyG ...
I do hope you have a splendid day today
December 23, 2008
Now let the party begin...
Let's Dance ... as in Footloose!

City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing
People passing
Meeting smile after smile
And on ev'ry street corner you'll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day
Strings of street lights
Even stop lights
Blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers rush
home with their treasures
Hear the snow crunch
See the kids bunch
This is Santa's big scene
And above all this bustle You'll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling, hear them sing
Soon it will be Christmas day...
Want a cup of hot chocolate?
((hugs))

No time to waste
Got to get up‘n at‘em in the morning tomorrow
The storm of the century is coming, according to the weather people. Apparently coming from southern California, sweeping over Arizona, Colorado, and all across the wide-open plains, through Michigan and off to the east. Supposed to arrive here in my area Thursday afternoon late and continue through Friday.
So if you are not prepared ~ get prepared! Better to be prepared with extra bottled water, foods to eat that do not require cooking, etc if power goes out. Oh, and TP, too!
Believe me, this year we are having a white Christmas here in western Michigan! Santa will happy!
Bundle up y’all ~ unless the weather people are wrong…

I returned from a quick weekend trip to the Detroit. When I left here on Saturday it was cold (25 deg.) and windy ~ by the time I got just west of Lansing there were more snow flurries and the temp was dropping. However, the weather was clear in the Detroit area. As I returned to Grand Rapids Sunday evening the weather was rainy and windy. I arrived this evening to temps of 49 deg. and it is raining harder.
The 11 o’clock weather report states the temps are going to drop drastically and become much windier. The weatherman stated, “If your car is outside in the rain tonight, it will freeze solid by morning.”I am so thankful to be home, safe and sound! I am also thankful that I can park in my attached garage and don't have to scrape ice off the car ~ that is if I was going out, but I am not! That photo would be my car if it were parked outside ~ but it isn't!!!
