Thank you!

I appreciate all the birthday greetings
from one and all.
Unfortunately I am still not feeling
much better ...
But, tomorrow is another day!

Talk like a pirate day ~ and my birthday!
Arrrrr me mateys
Join me for a mug of grog!
and a piece of birthday cake.
On Thursday I had dinner with Surrogate and his ex-roomie Dot and her beau, Terry. As usual dinner was yummy. He made beef stew with phyllo dough topping. Dot brought some fresh green beans. And we topped the meal off with my Birthday Cake, complete with candles!
After they sang The Happy Birthday Song to me I blew out the candles, made a wish, and we had ice cream and cake. It was a delicious yellow cake with the most delicious topping; coconut, pecans and probably butter and brown sugar, but it was so delicious.
Then I was going to head to the other side of the state for a birthday celebration tomorrow for my nephew (birthday on the 17th) and me (on the 19th). We usually combine our celebration and call it a "Virgo Celebration" but I ended up getting a sore throat and headache and didn't feel well enough to drive the distance, as I have to be back on Monday for babysitting duty for my 6-month-old grandson, Arbor Douglas.
So I am resting comfortably, taking my cough medicine, and not spreading these germs to anyone else. I hope Dot, Terry, and Surrogate didn't get any germs from me. I didn't realize I was getting a cold until that night when I noticed I was coughing and had a 'tickle' in my throat ... that is how it usually starts with me. So I am drinking juice, taking my meds like a good girl and hopefully will be up and running soon.
Ahoy me mateys! ... Arrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Happy Holiday to all.
This is the last of the summer holidays and so far all is well in my neighborhood ~ and here too since I'm not at home!
I was invited to ride with Surrogate to the other side of the state and gladly took him up on the option. He is so thoughtful to think of me when he goes across state and to invite me to ride along. I love it!
I am visiting my sisters and families and we are having a grand time. We had a special dinner yesterday with several people present, and now have leftovers to snack on today ~ leftovers are a good thing!
This evening we are going to the park for a special Fireworks Celebration and I am looking forward to that. It is usually spectacular! We will have our own family gathering at the park as we each bring our own comfy chair and can enjoy the view. Some people, as in the younger ones, will just sit on blankets on the ground. I remember doing that in my younger days, but as I age and "arthuritis" is now a rather constant companion I find the chair a much more comfy alternative. And as my sisters age along with me, we each have our 'own special chair' ~ the older guys do too!

We will be watching fireworks and thankful for another good time!
Happy Holiday All!
